Abstract

For improving the current existing problems in wireless sensor networks, reducing the amount of the node key storage and key generation overhead, a new key management scheme based on ECC and the traditional clustering structure is proposed, which combines the identity-based encryption using the one-way hash function and the dual cluster head nodes structure. Under the coordination and management of the vice cluster head node, the cluster nodes could join and leave networks dynamically. In this way, this scheme could effectively prevent the nodes being out of work because of the cluster head node death, and support rekeying, cluster heads update, and addition of new nodes. Compared with the existing schemes, the performance analysis shows that this scheme has some obvious advantages in resilience to nodes compromise, storage overhead and scalability.
