Abstract
盗聴されてもいい通信路を使って二つの参加者が安全に鍵を交換（共有）するための方法は「鍵交換」と呼ばれ，その研究から現代暗号が誕生した．本稿では，歴史上最初に発表された「鍵交換」であるDiffie-Hellman-Merkle(DHM) 鍵交換方式がどのように発展し，現代暗号理論の最先端においてどのように研究されているかを概観する．
