Abstract
Besides β-sitosterol and stigmasterol, the major steroids of sugarcane, the following minor steroids have been isolated and identified from sugarcane wax: 3,6-diketosteroids, Δ 4-3-keto steroids, and Δ 4-6-hydroxy-3-keto steroids. Their structures were established by spectroscopic techniques and chemical correlations.
