Background: Use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) remains controversial in patients with ulcerative colitis. Some evidence suggests NSAID use in patients with IBD may precipitate disease flares or increase surgical complications, and many clinicians prohibit their use.
