Abstract

Artistic gymnastics is a discipline that determines winner by the assessment of motion by panel judges. The short routines of athlete is assessed based on the level of difficulty of movement, the level of general faults, and specific deduction of apparatus., so that gymnast is required to performed a perfect skill routine in each apparatus. This description aims to provide an overview of the artistic gymnast of South Sulawesi doing a series of movements called routine on a balance beam apparatus. Data collection using a series of motion tests on 20 female athletes aged 10-12 years. The instrument is based on the routine Age Group Development and Competition Program. The value of the series of motion obtained is 10% the low category, 75% the medium category and 15% the high category. Based on the results of the judgement, data were obtained to evaluate the physical and motor quality of the gymnast during a series of movements.
