Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present a kernel-independent fast multipole accelerated boundary element method for the simulation of a system of coupled conduction–radiation heat transfer in three-dimensional participating media. Radiative transfer integral equations are considered as radiation heat transfer model in participating media. For the nonlinear energy equation, Newton–Generalized Minimal Residual (GMRES) iterative scheme is adopted. The loose coupling iterative technique is applied to this strongly coupled system. Then, the separate solutions are both obtained by the kernel-independent fast multipole boundary element method based on the collocation scheme. Numerical examples show that the present fast algorithm is effective and efficient.
