Keratoacanthoma developing on nevus sebaceous in a child

Abstract

To the Editor: A 12-year-old Japanese boy had a 1-month history of a dome-shaped nodule on his left cheek. Several brown papules had been present on his cheek since birth (Fig 1, A). Physical examination revealed a well-demarcated, pink, dome-shaped nodule with a central keratinous crater on his left cheek sized 12 × 11 mm, and several brown papules distributed on his left cheek with a linear configuration adjacent to the dome-shaped nodule (Fig 1, B).
