Abstract

Food habit related to four from ten main causes of the death in the developed countries, like the Coronary Heart Disease (CHD), several types of cancer, stroke and type 2 diabetes. The objectives of this research were to investigate the effect of nutrition and breast health education to diversity of consumption and physical activity on respondents with and without breast cyst. Experimental design was used in this study with one group pre-post test study. Research was conducted in “Dharmais” hospital on June 2009-August 2009. Respondents consist of two groups, i.e. 10 non-cyst females and 10 females with cyst. Nutrition and breast health education was given to respondents three times periodically, i.e. 0 week (initial), 2nd week, and 4nd week. The data of diversity of food consumption and physical activity were collected through a direct interview at before intervention at 0 week and after intervention at 4 nd week using the questionnaires of Food record during 14 days and activity record during 7 days. The result showed that the nutrition and breast health education did not changed food consumption and variation physical activity significantly, but consumption fast food tend to decrease and physical activity respondents tend to increase.
