Abstract

This study aims to determine leadership and organizational culture in improving teacher performance at SMA Negeri 5 Central Maluku. The method used in this research is descriptive evaluative qualitative method. The subjects studied were teachers of SMA Negeri 5 Central Maluku. Data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Data processing techniques are carried out by reducing data, displaying data and concluding. Examination of the validity of the data in this study using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that the leadership style in improving teacher performance can be influenced by several factors including the role of the principal who must motivate and pay attention to teachers, the discipline of the principal and the principal's wisdom in all things, organizational culture in improving performance is influenced by several factors including the making of rules and regulations for teachers and students and then strong teamwork, teacher performance planning in improving teacher performance is influenced by several factors including providing debriefing to teachers, involving teachers in upgrading or training activities, and assignment to teachers. Thus, it can be concluded that a motivational leadership style and a strong organizational culture can improve teacher performance.
