Abstract

Supply of mature broodstocks is still critical problem for the development ofmudcrab hatchery. The objective of the present study is to know the gonad somatic index (GSI) of the mudcrab (Scylla serrata) given different composition and daily ransom diets. The results show that the composition and daily ransom gave significantly effects (P<0,05) on gonad somatic index of mudcrab. The highest GSI (16,71%) was produced by giving a diet composition 25% formulated diet and 75% squid as much as 9% daily and the lowest occured on diet composition of 100% formulated diet as much as 3% daily. This may attribute that combined composition and daily ransom diet sinergically given on gonad development of mudcrab (Scylla serrata).
