Abstract
The low problem-solving ability can be caused by the difficult and scary character of mathematics according to students. Problem-solving skills provide great benefits to students in seeing the relevance of mathematics to other subjects, as well as in real life. Achieve students' problem-solving skills in mathematics is not an easy thing because the ability to apply mathematics is done individually. The purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical problem-solving ability of junior high school students in solving problems on the material of quadrilaterals and triangles. The subjects of this study were class VIII students in the village of Sukagalih as many as 3 students. The instrument was used in the form of a written test accompanied by interviews. This research is qualitative descriptive research with a descriptive analysis method. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical problem-solving ability of students in Sukagalih village is included in the medium category.
