Abstract

This research is motivated by low mathematical communication skills and students' difficulties in solving math problems which have an impact on the low ability to solve flat-sided geometry problems that require students' mathematical communication skills. This study aims to determine the difficulties of students in solving problems of mathematical communication skills. The research method used is qualitative. The research was carried out in Kampung Gudang with a sample of 3 junior high school students. The instrument of this research is a description test of five questions and interviews to explore students' difficulties in working on the questions. The results of the analysis concluded that some students did not understand the form of the question as a whole and still had difficulties in the completion process.
