Abstract

The equity of his nation's health services provision is a core mission for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgeon Kelvin Kong, Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, and the University of Newcastle in eastern Australia. “As an Indigenous Australian, I feel obligated to strive to ensure that access to quality health care is available to all Australian citizens”, he says. As a busy clinician, Kong sees the pressure on ENT and hearing services, recently compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.
