Abstract
The nature of origin of the language has been discussed for the early ages of the humanity. There have come out many theories and various opinions of the philosophers, theologians, philologists and anthropologists. In the history of Muslim thought, especially among the Muslim theologians there have occured various discussions on this matter. In the result of the discussions of the nature of the origins of language they produced four various opinions. These are Tawqifi, the opinion which claims that it is of divine origin, Istilâhi and Mawzu?i, the opinion which defends that it is of human production, both Tawqifi and Istilâhi, and lastly the opinions of Neutralists about that. It seems that the theories that support Tawqifi and Istilâhi has been considered reasonable among others.
