Abstract

This article based on research about the mistakes of the Indonesian language in the Local Government Regulations of West Sumatra Province. This article explained the mistakes of Indonesian language in local government regulation were designed, discussed, and decided by the West Sumatra Provincial Government and the Assembly at West Sumatra Province. This research is important because the Indonesian language mistakes in local government regulations are related to the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 63 of 2019 Part 3 which is “that Indonesian language should be used in grammar regulations which are using sentences, writing techniques, and spelling. Local government regulation is a product of laws and regulations that should use the Indonesian language correctly. However, some mistakes Indonesian languages still found in the local government regulation. This research is qualitative and the method used in data collection is the observation method, the method of analyzing data used the distributional method, and the method of presenting the results of the analysis is an oral presentation. Several mistakes in the Indonesian language was found in the local government regulation of West Sumatra Province that are 1) the mistake of used punctuation, 2) the mistake of words and spelling, 3) the mistake of used words from local language and foreign language, 4) the mistake of used compound, 5) the sentences that are not effective, 6)using of non-standard words, 7) the mistype the words, and 8) the mistake used preposition.
