Abstract

Introduction. This research aims to explore the emotional intelligence of librarians in conflict management in college libraries in Karawang Regency.
 Data Collection Methods. This study used a qualitative method with phenomenological approaches. The data gathering techniques were observations, interviews, and literature studies.
 Data Analysis. Data analysis were conducted by collecting data, reducing data, verifying data and drawing conclusions. The samples in this study were librarians working at college libraries in Karawang.
 Result and Discussion. The findings in this study showed that every college library in Karawang experienced almost the same conflict, both from interpersonal conflict, intragroup conflict, to conflict among groups. In addition, the findings showed that many librarians have emotional intelligence in almost every college library.
 Conclusion. Librarians are able to manage emotional intelligence well, so that they are indirectly able to do conflict management in the library. This is benefical for the library itself. The recommendation of this study that college leaders should pay more attention and provide more support to librarians as a distributor of information.
