Abstract

This research aimed to describe Kemalik local tradition in Sasak clan of Sade cluster of Rembita village, Pujut subdistrict of middle Lombok regency of west Nusa Tenggara province in maintaining long lasting of living space. Method of this research is qualitative. The descriptive data collected from the result of observation and interview to the informant of Sasak Clan of Sade cluster of Rembita village. The result of the research of Kemalik local tradition was the prohibition of entering tradition forest of Kiyangan mounth without asking permission; and if the societies broke the permission, they would get the risk latter on. If the forest was broke and the trees were cut down, thus, the breaker had to pay the traditional fine such as a buffalo, 100 kilograms of rice, pierced coin as much as 244 stone, brown sugar, a bucket of rice. The hardest punishment was whether the punishment above disobeyed, so, the breaker would not be given custom prince and customary kyai for some thanksgiving ceremonies such as housewarming event, ceremonial feast; moreover, they would be expelled and not acknowledged as traditional society.
