Abstract

In this paper, a Gallium Nitride (GaN) power amplifier (PA) design implementing a novel power combiner with harmonic suppression is presented. This new combiner recently developed in prior work is denoted as the ‘Wei-Chi’ combiner. The ‘Wei-Chi’ Combiner has an 87% power combining efficiency. The ‘Wei-Chi’ PA produced a measured small-signal peak gain of 9.5 dB. In addition, power measurements showed an output power (Pout) of 2.4W and a peak power added efficiency (PAE) of 42% at 26 GHz.
