Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan over the years of independent development of the two states, their place and role in the system of modern international politics. Particular attention is paid to the dynamics of all-round cooperation of these countries in recent years against the background of the growing rivalry of large states in relation to Central Asia, where Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan occupy a leading position. An attempt is being made in the context of the state visit in December 2022 of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Uzbekistan to determine the main contours of the upcoming multifaceted cooperation between these countries in the medium term, which will contribute to stable development and strengthening security in the region.
