Abstract
The article deals with the issues of genre differentiation and the educational and ethnographic aspects of wedding and ritual songs of the Kazakh people. The wedding is a complex of rituals that express the worldview and perception of the people, formed by centuries of educational traditions. The beauty of the sound, coupled with the didactic content of folk wedding songs, had a great influence on the formation of the pedagogical culture and aesthetic views of Kazakh youth, preserving its relevance to the present day. To the genre varieties of ritual songs performed at weddings are –that bastar, zhar-zhar, sonusu, aushadiyar, betashar, that tarark, etc. While dwelling in detail on each of them, the author describes the historical and cultural roots and substantiates from the modern scientific point of view their educational value.Key words: wedding ritual songs, traditional rituals, family ritual folklore, that bastar, zhar-zhar, sonusu, aushadiyar, betachar.
