Abstract

This book offers a meticulously researched exploration of the performance histories of Eugene O’Neill’s two major “race” plays, demonstrating how these performances negotiated and challenged racism in the theatre and society at large. Its target audiences include scholars of American theatre, Black studies, and global theatre, as well as theatre artists.
