Abstract
Others have written elsewhere of Kay Butler as the Head of a great Cambridge women's college and of her varied social and educational interests; it is natural that in the pages of this Review we should chiefly remember her as an Italian scholar and an indefatigable worker in the promotion of our studies. She was one of the five founder members of Italian Studies, and since Professor Bullock's death, its Senior Editor; she acted as Honorary Treasurer of our Society, and on numerous occasions gave wholeheartedly of her time and energy to support our Conferences and Summer Schools.
