Abstract

ABSTRACTThe roles of healthcare professions are being reevaluated, redesigned, and reengineered as a result of healthcare reform. To see how well Electroneurodiagnostic Technology is positioned to endure, we need to examine the following questions: Have we clearly defined our profession, and identified a need and role for our services? How adequate are we at preparing individuals to meet the needs and roles we define? Is voluntary credentialing important and are the current credentialing processes effective? What changes should we consider for the future in order to secure our survival? As a profession, we must come together to clearly define Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, champion our services, and establish core education requirements.
