Abstract
The purpose and conditions of creation, as well as peculiarities of the functioning of Soviet-party schools in the 1920s were investigated. On the example of the Katerynoslav (Dnipropetrovsk) school the educational and personnel aspects of activity of similar establishments are analyzed. It’s established that the Soviet-party schools operating in the Ukrainian SSR played an important role in spreading communist propaganda and population indoctrination, and this was of no small importance in the formation of the Soviet totalitarian regime. The article deals with the main goal of the party schools – the training of party functionaries, activists, propagandists, whose main quality was devotion to the ruling regime. It’s defined that party education meant raising the general educational level of school students, as well as maximizing their perception of communist ideology. Graduates of party schools were in great demand on party, public and state work.

Исследованы цели и условия создания, а также особенности функционирования в 1920-х годах советско-партийных школ. Тоді ж І Всеросійська конференція працівників радянсько-партійних шкіл та політосвіткурсів, скликана Головним політично-просвітницьким комітетом Наркомату освіти РСФРР 15−20 грудня 1921 р., винесла рішення про відхід від зразка старої партійної школи підпілля та створення натомість системи радпартшкіл І та ІІ ступеня (повітових із 3–4-місячними курсами навчання та губернських із річним) для підготовки нових кадрів управлінців та пропагандистів мирного часу із поглибленим знанням марксизму
