Abstract

The article analyses the impact on art by the ideas of the movement of Catholic Modernism, which has spread in Lithuania in 1930s. While investigating the sources of Catholic cultural press, different attitudes on the expressions of Modernism experiences in Lithuanian art are revealed. The article also highlights the factors that have deter­mined positive or negative evaluation of those processes in art.
