Abstract
The cytology of an endemic species Primulina tabacum (Gesneriaceae) was studied in this paper. The chromosome numbers and karyotype were investigated for the first time. The results revealed that the interphase nuclei were categorized to be rod prochromosome type and the mitotic prophase chromosomes were classified as proximal type. The chromosome number was 2n=36. The karyotype formula was 2n=2x=36=24m (1SAT)+12sm and the karyotype is 2A type.
