Abstract

The somatic metaphase chromosomes of nine species of Felidae were analyzed from cells grown in tissue culture initiated with small skin biopsies. Seven species show a diploid chromosome number of 38, and the remaining two, 36. There are remarkable similarities among the karyotypes so far studied.
