Abstract
The creation of an animated film begins with a story-board consisting of a series of frames. Between each pair of storyboard frames, the artist must draw many intermediate frames to produce smooth animation. This paper describes an interactive computer graphics program which automatically produces the intermediate frames for review or filming. The program runs on an IBM 1130/2250 with a Sylvania tablet attached to the 1130. The user can draw the storyboard frames on the tablet and ask for animation on the 2250. The intermediate frames are calculated using linear interpolation.
