Karakteristik Sosial Ekonomi Masyarakat Di Sepanjang Aliran Sungai Kuantan Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Dan Implikasinya Pada Kebijakan Dan Pelaksanaan Pembangunan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the socio-economic conditions of the people who live along the Kuantan River, Kuantan Singingi Regency, and find out the harmony between the socioeconomic conditions and development policies and activities along the Kuantan River. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive by taking 89 respondents representing the upstream, middle and downstream parts of the Kuantan River. The results showed that the socio-economic conditions of the people along the Kuantan River were different from the condition of the people who lived far from the Kuantan River. The Kuantan River, which is affected almost every year, disturbs the activities and productivity of the population. Existing infrastructure along the Kuantan River is still inadequate, starting from educational facilities, religious facilities, health facilities, and village road infrastructure. Local government policies have not shown good harmony with the socio-economic conditions of the community along the Kuantan River, although there are a number of policies that can help improve community conditions.
