Abstract

Objective To investigate adult' s knowledge,attitude and practice (KAP) of hepatitis B in Beijing Chaoyang District,and to provide basic data and evidence for developing effective interventions and evaluating the project effectiveness.Method 43 streets and towns were randomly selected as the survey points according to the characteristics of Chaoyang District.Then the whole families from these points were also randomly selected with stratified and cluster sampling in stages to carry out the survey,and self-compiled questionnaire were used in the survey to investigate people' s KAP. Result The knowledge awareness rate of the three hepatitis B transmission routes ( blood transmission,vertical transmission,sexual transmission)were as follows:69.7%,53%,42.3%.Hepatitis B vaccine,condom prevention awareness rates separately were 71.3%,26.6%,and the difference between characteristics of population was statistically significant.49.5% people in the survey minded living or working with hepatitis B person.People were lack of hepatitis B vaccination knowledge in the survey,and only 26.3% residents had received the vaccine.Conclusion The KAP on hepatitis B among adults in Chaoyang District needs to be strengthened and improved.Hierarchical health education which focuses different people' s demands should be implemented,and widespread immunization with hepatitis B vaccine among the adults should be raised,then to improve residents health awareness.
