Abstract

The paper treats recent field-work in the south-western Ukraine. Three new sites of Linear Pottery Culture were found in north Odessa region. Author argues that they constitute a cluster of settlements and indicate a regular Neolithic colonisation of the region. It pushes the limit of LPC area some 120 km to the east. One of the sites, Kamyane-Zavallia was excavated. A typical long pit was uncovered, alongside with a stone pavement and a narrow, deep trench. They could probably form a part of typical LPC house’s layout. Ceramic imports of Dudesti culture revealed long-distance contacts with farmers of Lower Danube valley.
