Abstract

Song lyrics are a literary genre, because there are similarities between existing elements and elements possessed by poetry, so it can be said that song lyrics and poetry are the same. With the similarities between poetry and song lyrics it can be understood that song lyrics are also a poem. The many elements of poetry and the same song lyrics, resulting in song lyrics can also be called pitched poetry. So it can be concluded that song lyrics can be analyzed using the same theory and method in studying poetry. The objectives of the study (1) are to describe and explain the combination of the structure of the song lyrics which includes the intrinsic elements contained in the lyrics of Iwan Fals' song "Tikus-tikus Kantor" and the lyrics of the Slank song "Gosip Jalanan", (2) to describe and explain the similarities and differences of the elements. the intrinsic content contained in the lyrics of Iwan Fals' song "Tikus-tikus Kantor" and in the lyrics of the Slank song "Gossip Jalanan", (3) Describes the intertextual relationship in the lyrics of Iwan Fals' song "Tikus-tikus Kantor" and in the lyrics of the Slank song "Gossip Jalanan" . This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using content analysis research or content analysis. Sources of data in this study are: (1) Iwan Fals song lyrics "Tikus-tikus Kantor" (2) Slank song lyrics "Gosip Jalanan". The data collection technique used in this study is a library research method. The results of this study are (1) The structure of the lyrics of the songs "Tikus-tikus Kantor" and "Gosip Jalanan" looks cohesive and has a very strong relationship even though it is seen in the text that the two song lyrics stand alone, (2) Similarities and differences in the lyrics of the song " Office Rats” and “Street Gossip” are similar in structure which includes theme, feeling, tone, and message. The difference between the two lyrics of this song is found in the style of language, (3) The intertextual relationship between “Office Rats” and “Street Gossip” regarding life using the Indonesian political background during the New Order era from 1966 to 1998, states that corruption cases were very rampant during the New Order era, reported by p2k.ukirs.ac.id. It can be said that this problem was first raised in the lyrics of the song "Tikus-tikus Kantor" (1993) by Iwan Fals and then rewritten using the same background in the lyrics of the song "Gosip Jalanan" (2004) by Slank Politics Indonesia in the reform era until now. This can be seen from the structure of the two song lyrics which almost have a combination of every aspect.
