Abstract
This study is on the establishment and publication of the Tiflisskiye Vedomosti newspaper, the official publication of the Independent Caucasus Corps (Mustakil Kafkasya Kolordusu) which was the highest military-administrative authority in the Caucasus in the first half of the 19th century. It is possible to see the politics of Russia in the Caucasus from the articles in this newspaper. Russia's military and political activities against Iran and especially the Ottoman Empire were published in this newspaper as news. esides, many pieces on the history, culture, traditions and customs of the Caucasian peoples have been written in Tiflisskiye Vedomosti for Russia to get to know them. In this study, all the issues of the newspaper were reviewed and classified according to their subjects and especially the writings about the history and culture of the Caucasian peoples were evaluated. In addition, news sent from the front about the Ottoman-Russian War of 1828-1829 were examined.
