KAFA’S MONEY-CHANGING HOLE IN THE 13TH — 14TH CENTURIES

Abstract

This Article addresses Origin of the Money-Changing Hole in Kafa in the 13th — 14th Centuries based on a wide Variety of Sources, public-legal Documents, notarial Deeds, public financial Registers, private financial Records, Trade Books, numismatic and archaeological Collections. In the Article reconstructed Activity of the Greek Trapeza and Trapezites, who specialized in the Exchange of Coins with Greek Writing, of the Levant Sarraf Yanseke and Sarrafs, in Charge of which has been Oriental Money Exchange, of the Italian Campsa and Campsors, who were responsible for Occident Coins.
