Abstract

Despite its fifth-century setting, the wildly popular French television series Kaamelott presents spectators with a court that seems familiar and accessible. By lessening the distance between his version of the Arthurian world and his twenty-first-century audience, series creator Alexandre Astier invites viewers to reflect on their own society. (TF)
