Abstract

In order to study the effect of heat treatment, contact fatigue test was carried out on sintered alloy. Sintered alloy shows different contact fatigue behavior than molten metal. Effect of sintering temperature is not significant within the variation of sintering temperature in this study. However, specimen without sintering shows lower contact fatigue strength compare to the specimen with heat treatment. This may due to the difference of damage mechanism. Crack was occurred inside of the heat-treated specimen. However, crack could not be observed in subsurface of the specimen without heat treatment.
