Abstract

In this paper thermoelastic deformation and stress analyses of a rectangular plate that possesses orthotropic material properties in in-plane direction and nonhomogeneous material properties in thickness direction are treated theoretically. Three-dimensional temperature solution in steady state is successfully obtained for the case when the plate is heated non-uniformly from the both surfaces. Thermoelastic deformations and the stress distributions due to the bending and in-plane forces under the some mechanical boundary conditions plate are analyzed theoretically. Numerical calculations are carried out and effects of orthotropic and nonhomogeneous material properties affected on thermoelastic behaviors are discussed precisely.
