Abstract

In this article, the political situation of Kievan Rus at the end of the 12th century is studied. The author concentrates on the conflict between Prince of Chernigov and the Monomakhovich family that ruled Kiev in the spring of the 1196 year. The activities of church leaders and their efforts to mediate political conflicts are also reviewed.
