Abstract
The article examines the history of afforestation of the 19th-20th centuries in the southern part of the Astrakhan semi-desert, as well as the growth and durability of planting of forest crops on the coarse sand dunes of the relict Tugai-Khuduk object. The results of longterm monitoring of forest resources are presented.
