Abstract
The article on the formation of the personality of K.E. Tsiolkovsky, based on the materials of the Central State Archive of the Kirov region, examined the problems of the life and work of an outstanding scientist associated with his staying in Vyatka in 1868-1873 and 1876-1878. The memories of K.E. Tsiolkovsky are also analyzed and the attention is paid to the influence of a family on the personality of a scientist in the research.
