Abstract

A hamartomatous type of juxtaglomerular cell tumor was found in a young person with long standing refractory hypertension and a clinical picture of secondary aldosteronism terminating in massive brain hemorrhage. This cause of potentially lethal hypertension is generally not thought of because of its varity and may defy discovery because of its occult, nature. A review of the hitherto described world experience indicates the character of the tumor and points to the dramatic cure that rewards its timely discovery and excision.
