Abstract
This short story focuses on a bisexual, polyamorous triad formed by Nikki, Levit, and Mike, as they undertake the effort of writing and producing the first major bi and poly movie, entitled The Compersion Effect. The narrative focuses on the process of transformation that made their relationship possible, and on how the intimacy and strength of this triadic relationship make the project of the movie not only possible but highly successful. The Compersion Effect has become controversial, attracting homophobic attacks the three filmmakers discuss in a press conference. The narrative explores political and personal themes related to polyamory and bisexuality, as well as theories thereof, and the complex balance in a bi and poly triad whose members are part of the Southern California independent film industry.
