Abstract

Based on the provisions of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions, in law enforcement regarding accountability for criminal acts of prostitution through online media, the perpetrator can be charged under Article 27 Paragraph (1) states: That every person who intentionally and without right distributes and/or transmits and/or causes electronic information and/or electronic documents to be accessed which contain content violates decency. Anyone who violates the perpetrator's decency can be charged. The problem in this research is the law, implementation and what factors become obstacles and obstacles in the process of determining suspects for perpetrators of criminal acts. This research uses a descriptive analysis method using a normative approach (legal research) and is supported by empirical research. This was carried out to obtain primary data obtained through interviews through field research (research). The results of this research explain that the online media that is widely used in prostitution crimes is websites, this is usually used to display them with complete data such as photos, age, body posture, price and so on, which forum is in this forum can interact with many people, and by using applications, with program application media for chatting (Chat), voice telephone (Voice Call) or telephone picture (Video Call).
