Abstract

ABSTRACT Jurasaidae are a small family of elateroid beetles. Jurasai Rosa, et al. 2020 is composed of four species, all occurring in the Brazilian Atlantic rainforest and Caatinga biomes. Here, I describe the sixth species of the family, Jurasai ypauoca sp. nov., collected in a sample from a Malaise trap from the continental island of Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. I provide detailed illustrations of the new species morphology, along with a map of Jurasaidae species distribution. A key to the identification of Jurasai species is also presented. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:C324AC50-1A8D-408A-B4A5-3394EEB4F202
