June 19th, 1974 Renee Pollock (bio) Spirited dipsfling tongues of water, lick onto her fingers,witless.The water is calm beneath our boat.She trails long hands into murkish angry depths, laughing at the trails of spiralsFollowing and repulsing her movements. We are naked in pure summer sunlightrocking in our battered fixed-up boat,tempting the capsize,relaxed.Tanned golden peaks, sensual,mosquitoes humming buzzing,somehow we are swifter than the oldest rivers,moving gently among rushesand sunlight. [End Page 82] Renee Pollock Born in Trinidad and raised in Bronx, NY, Renee Pollock is a multicultural lesbian feminist who explores the intersection of culture and sexuality. She attended Pratt Institute where she pursued her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. Her poetry has been published in Decompression Zine and Outwardlink.net.
