Abstract
Obtaining their first software engineering job after graduation can be a daunting challenge for many IT graduates. This article explains how a major Australian university is partnering with the local IT industry to better prepare IT students for the start of their careers in software engineering through real-world industry projects. The article presents experiences from three viewpoints, that of the education provider, an industry partner, and a recent graduate.
