Abstract
Justice organizations have expended considerable economic, political and organizational efforts on the evidence-based practice (EBP) agenda. The current cadre' of EBPs presents challenges to agencies as they wrestle with understanding the practices and the credibility of the evidence. The present study explores the transportability of contingency management (CM), an EBP. Based on a mixed method study in five federal districts, we explore the adoption and initial implementation of CM. The transportability of the science into practices requires attention to adaptations when taking the new idea into practice.
