Abstract

Learning journalism made easy: This textbook provides a practical introduction to the current core topics of modern journalism training. Designed for use in journalism courses at universities and colleges, it consistently focuses on journalistic craft: finding and selling topics, researching and verifying information, and casting it into forms of presentation with the help of storytelling. To this end, the processes of multimedia content production are illustrated step by step using clear graphics and current examples. In addition to the media economic and ethical framework in this respect, the book focuses on trends in journalism, such as fake news, digital storytelling and data journalism, or mobile reporting and social journalism. Dr Janis Brinkmann is a professor of journalism in the digital information economy and teaches the specialist study programme ‘Digital Media and Journalism’ at the Highschool Mittweida.
