Abstract
Read to the American Association of Medical Editors, June 5th, 1883. It is scarcely more than two decades since the late surgeon George A. Otis, whose great work, “The Surgical History of the War of the Rebellion,” has won for its author imperishable honor, advised us as his pupil even at the beginning of medical study, to devote a certain portion of each day in the discharge of the duties of curator of a natural history collection.
