Abstract

Happy New Year to each one of you reading this editorial, and from all of us associated with the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, we send New Year wishes of peace, prosperity, good health, and hopefully a return to what we all remember as being “normal” once again. I know that there is still a pandemic among us and that it is being felt differently in different parts of the world. We also know that new variants have recently been identified and that at the time of this writing, we are still learning what the Omicron variant is all about, how virulent it is, and what implications it will have as we try to wrestle with everything associated with COVID-19 and the impact it has had on all of us. As I have stated on numerous occasions, I can only hope that everyone remains safe, that your families remain safe, and that we all get our vaccines and boosters as they are rolled out in your countries. I also pray that more number people will get vaccinated so that one day, hopefully not too far away, that we will be able to get back to our “normal” and that these past few years teach us how special and precious the life is, and all of our family, friends, and colleagues. So, we enter a new year, and it is once again our pleasure to be leading the amazing Associate Editors, Guest Editors, and Reviewers from all over the world who help us get your articles peer-reviewed, commented upon, and then hopefully published in our wonderful journal. Many may not know, but the team, the Wiley team, works tirelessly to ensure that we are bringing the highest quality publications to our cosmetic and aesthetic communities. I would also be remiss if I did not thank our Managing Editor, Ms. Angela Brown, who also devotes countless hours each and every day from our Nashville, TN, USA office to assure that we remain on task and that we provide the best possible service to each one of you. We assure you we will work even harder in 2022 and that we will continue to publish some of the most important articles in this space. This issue of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology has something for everyone, so we do hope that you enjoy the variety of articles we have selected for January 2022. In addition, we continue something that we hope eventually we can end sooner than later—COVID-19-related articles of interest to the cosmetic and aesthetic community. We started adding these to our journal after the pandemic began, and we continue to learn more interesting skin-related findings and trends associated with COVID-19 that we feel we need to bring to you, our readers. As always, on the JCD website, https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/14732165, we maintain a library of all of the COVID-19 papers that we have published to date. We have some wonderful review articles in this issue, as well as exciting and innovative submissions on all aspects from our specialty. There is truly something of interest for all of you. Please enjoy this issue, and please, as noted at the beginning of this editorial, stay safe and stay healthy.
